Fox continues to fight Warner over the rights to release the film adaptation of "Watchmen", and now it looks like the whole thing is going to trial. This is getting out of hand! Fox just needs to tell Warner what it really wants, wether it's DVD rights to the "Batman" TV show of the 60s or just $$$.
The property belongs to WB, Fox wasted the rights it had. They made no attempt to make a film in the years they had the film rights. To attack now seems more like a hit on fans, rather than WB, and with "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" right around the corner Fox is messing with the wrong fanboys.
If this was indeed about $$ I think Fox would have picked a number by now, this seems to go deeper. And while some may see this as a fight for copyrights, it really reeks of sour grapes. Warner hit the jackpot with "The Dark Knight", which is fast on it's way to becoming the highest grossing film in history, and Fox really needs a hit with "Wolverine".
But I think Fox should re-evaluate it's position here. WB produces "Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles" and may choose to cut all ties to the Fox network and take it's shows to rival nets.
