BEST/WORST of 2008

Here we are, the end of another year. And what a year it was, new President, new depression and now a new blog for me. So to start my new year, I decided to list things that made the last 366 days worth living!

BEST MOVIE: THE DARK KNIGHT
Even tho I cannot watch the whole thing without an emotional breakdown, this film demolished all others that came before it.  Heath Ledgers' performance was hyped beyond belief, but the guy lived up to every bit of press.

WORST MOVIE: MAX PAYNE
I think the title explains the journey of the viewer of the film. And yes Marky Mark was nice eye candy....but I have had more fun dental visits.

BEST TV SERIES: PUSHING DAISIES
All other TV shows WISH they could be "Daisies". The colors, the characters and Digby! Not since "Buffy, The Vampire Slayer" has a TV show pushed the limits of what television can do. Sadly, the show is now cancelled and will join the pantheon of axed art.

WORST TV SERIES: PRIVATE PRACTICE
Put the worst qualities of any given TV series together in a stew of mediocrity and you have "Practice".

BEST VIDEO GAME: MORTAL KOMBAT vs. DC UNIVERSE
Captain Marvel vs. Raiden.....i'm hooked!!! So much fun, it should be criminal! Other games had better graphics, but none made me as blood-thirsty!

WORST VIDEO GAME: ANY MARVEL MOVIE GAME
From "Iron Man" to "Incredible Hulk", these licensed games were just awful. The game play was stiff, and didn't come near replicating the fun of their respective films. For real movie game fun...play the LEGO franchise!

BEST COMIC SERIES: ACTION COMICS
Geoff Johns has done it again! He has taken Superman and put new life into the man of steel. Along with artist Gary Frank, Geoff put big blue on the map again with powerful stories that reminded me of the first 2 Superman films.

WORST COMIC SERIES: TITANS
Judd Winnick puts the final nail in the coffin of what used to be the best super-team. Every issue was worse than the last. Bland characters and art that makes my head hurt, DC should just stop with this team before readers stop with them.
